Necessity

So this is May, the month most Sri Lankans celebrate vesak which is the most important festival for Buddhists.
It marks the birth, enlightenment and passing away to Nirvana of the lord Buddha. Vesak is a cultural and a religious festival which is celebrated in the full moon day in May. So people make vesak lanterns and so many other things to celebrate vesak. There is a concept very special than vesak lanterns. It was introduced thousands of years ago. Even in the time of lord Buddha this was used according to books. It is, giving food and other things for free. In early times people who were very rich and also kings made places where poor people can have food for free. They did that as a social service. So in vesak season people collect money and give things for free, mostly it is food. Rice, bread, noodles etc are given free for anyone. So people wait for hours inques and eat.
Not like the early times, nowadays rich people also eat from these places. (Aha i forgot to mention that these are called dansal). Some people go to dansals because it is easy. They don't have to cook and also it saves money. So high luxury vehicles are very common near these places on vesak day.
This year there is something more than vesak in May. It has been raining heavily and it has caused flooding and many people have died. Most people don't have anything to eat. Even though government and armed forces are doing their best to help people more help is needed, but still people are collecting money for dansals..

Is that what's necessary now? Feeding people who are living in luxury apartments and have fun at dansals or using that money to help those people who really need our help now? So THINK.. Personally i don't agree with giving money to dansals. If it was a process like in kings times I will not think twice before giving money. Because I want to help people who are really helpless, not some multi-milionaire morons having fun.

How to survive A/Ls in 3 months...

Today is the first of May and there are exactly three months until GCE A/L exams begin. I intend to help people who has realized this and started panicking and feeling lost, but not only A/L students but also any student with any upcoming exam can use these tips to ace your exam. I will first explain why most of us usually wait until the day before deadline to do stuff. It's explained by Parkinson's law which states that " Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion". What it means is, if we are given a week to finish a task we will finish it within the week and if we are given an year to finish the same task we will spend the whole year doing it. Well that's how usually us, lazy humans work. Now that you know what happened there is no time to regret about how we procrastinated on unnecessary things etc. Now it's time to damage control. I will not gurantee you will get 3As by following these. (It's possible depending on
