The most difficult question I ever had to answer...

The most difficult question I ever had to answer was not in a question paper or a viva. Once in a while in most unexpected moments life throws us questions and lessons which makes us to think and be grateful for everything we have.
One day in April, 2019 I visited Medirigiriya to collect some samples for my undergraduate research where I came across this family. It was a small house with two generations of families living happily. Three kids were living happily with their parents and grandparents.Their father was the patient who was suffering from chronic kidney disease and after a little chat with the family I asked if I can see his medical records to which the wife agreed. When checking his medical records I understood that both of his kidneys and heart are in a very bad shape. And then the wife asked me in a very innocent tone with a smile on her face, " මැඩම් මෙයාට à·„ොඳ à·€ෙයි නේද ? (Maam, He will be okay, right?) " I could only smile. I couldn't tell her that her beloved husband only has less than six months to live. I left that family on that day with a heavy heart but I always thought what might have happened to them and recently I got to know he died in August, 2019.
In my visit I interacted with so many people and learned so many new things, not only academics but also life.People always complain about very little things in life, but there are some people who are living with bare minimum which is required to live, yet they are happy. This is just a one sad story behind the famous Chronic Kidney Disease in Sri Lanka. I kindly request you all to support the patients and their families in any way you can.

How to survive A/Ls in 3 months...

Today is the first of May and there are exactly three months until GCE A/L exams begin. I intend to help people who has realized this and started panicking and feeling lost, but not only A/L students but also any student with any upcoming exam can use these tips to ace your exam. I will first explain why most of us usually wait until the day before deadline to do stuff. It's explained by Parkinson's law which states that " Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion". What it means is, if we are given a week to finish a task we will finish it within the week and if we are given an year to finish the same task we will spend the whole year doing it. Well that's how usually us, lazy humans work. Now that you know what happened there is no time to regret about how we procrastinated on unnecessary things etc. Now it's time to damage control. I will not gurantee you will get 3As by following these. (It's possible depending on
