Perfumes

All of us use perfumes, right? My fav is Yardley and yours maybe something else. However everyone uses perfumes to keep a sweet smell around them all the day, but actually what do you know about perfumes? Besides that it contains alcohol and some chemicals which will make it smell nice? There are so many things you should know about perfumes.. So lets figure out what you know and don't know.
Perfume is a Latin word which means "through smoke". Perfumes were first developed by Egyptians. So it's pretty old ha? It is stated in history that the famous Egyptian queen Cleopatra used gallons of perfumed oil to seduce Julius Ceaser. And the first known perfumer is a Mesopotamian chemist Taputti, Nowadays perfumers are called "Noses" and it is so hard to become a nose. In the first test to become a nose, a person has to be able to identify 250 different fragrances.

We, humans can distinguish 10,000 different odors, and women have a stronger sense of smell than men. Also every single person has a unique smell print just like our hand print. There are separate perfumes for men coz of the difference of PH levels in skins. Usually male skin is much more acidic than females. Also same scent can smell different on 2 individuals because of the skins own chemistry.

Most expensive perfume in the world is Clive Christian's Imperial majesh pricecd at 215,000 $ for 16.9 ounces or 500ml. It is served in a Baccarat crystal bottle with an 18 carat gold collar and 5 carat diamonds.

There are some facts you should know before using perfumes and let's see how many of you are doing these already.
  • Moisturize the area before applying. So the fragrance won't fade easily.
  • To maximize the smell apply to pulse points.Pulse points are the locations on the body where blood vessels are closest to the skin.Theses spots radiate heat which will cause the frangrance to radiate from skin to air. Some of these pulse points are inner wrists, base of neck, behind earlobes and inner elbows.
  • Most people say when applied to hair the fragrance will last long. It is true because of the oiliness in the scalp but the alcohol in the perfume will damage your hair.

How to survive A/Ls in 3 months...

Today is the first of May and there are exactly three months until GCE A/L exams begin. I will first explain why most of us usually wait until the day before deadline to do stuff. It's explained by Parkinson's law which states that " Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion". What it means is, if we are given a week to finish a task we will finish it within the week and if we are given an year to finish the same task we will spend the whole year doing it. Well that's how usually us, lazy humans work. Now that you know what happened there is no time to regret about how we procrastinated on unnecessary things etc. Now it's time to damage control. I will not gurantee you will get 3As by following these. (It's possible depending on
