We all have that friend who keeps updating about his/her relationship on social media. His/her FB wall is filled up with lovey dovey posts, couple selfies, and so many things about his/her relationship. They start it with a "in a relationship with..."post and then from there, you'll see tons of couple pics, and love quotes. Now what do they expect from that? Using one another to prove the world that they are happy and lovable. Did you know that the best sign of a healthy relationship is no sign of it on social media at all?
Marcia Naomi Berger, a famous psychotherapist says that the people who broadcast how great their personal lives are tend to have less than satisfying intimate lives but still cause others to feel bad about their own, even if they are fine.
When you post your extremely sweet couple photos and tagging your bf or gf in love quotes why do you actually do it? Showing others that you love him/ her in public? What good it will do to your relationship? Your facebook friends don't want to validate the strength of your relationship and also a couple hundred likes won't make your relationship any stronger. By doing that you are giving others a chance to put their nose in your relationship. Why should you let others know where did you go for a date on last Sunday, What did you eat for lunch with her.. etc. I personally don't give a damn about what you and your partner are doing. Posting things about your last date is like inviting a bunch of people for your date coz everyone will know what you did, in the end. It's a shameless act I must say.
Researches have shown that heavy social media use is commonly associated with a lack of mental health. So this is also a type of mental sickness. They seek attention from other people using their relationship. You are showing off your relationship, isn't that what you are doing? Is your relationship a movie everyone should enjoy? Is that the reason you keep us updated about it daily? In my eye, it's so pathetic. So childish. It's like a little kid who just got his new doll. Grow up. You are not a three years old child anymore.
