University survival guide..

If you are a frequent reader of this blog, then you may know that I went to Uni last year..  I went through lots of things and I mentioned some of them previously.. Through my experiences I though of giving some tips to survive the university.. So that you won't do the mistakes I did. I can still remember the day I entered the university..fully determined to learn and win.. However coz of an unfortunate situation my first semester was wasted.. and had to work hard to catch those things up in the second semester. However here are some tips to win the university and make your dreams come true.

1. Go to lectures everyday and meet professors in their office hours.

Well I know it's something obvious. But a university is not a school..Even though you don't go to a lecture there's no one to shout at you or punish you. So you might feel lazy sometimes. Or some people may discourage you by saying oh that's not a matter.. when the exam is near bright people will teach you.. Don't rely on others and don't hope that others will be their to help you. Your life is in your hands. Don't expect others to do for you.. Make your notes yourself, don't try to photocopy other peoples notes.Because I do not note down all the things lecturer is saying..I note down only facts important for me. May be you don't know the facts I already knew and didn't note down.So you'll miss them. So the most important thing is to go to lecturers everyday.. If you are not clear about what the lecturer is saying don't be afraid to ask questions. If you need to discuss more about the subject meet them in their office hours. They are willing to help you. Personally I think it's the best to ask them than asking another student.

2. Refer books and internet.

lecturers always name some books to refer. No need to buy every book coz library has enough number of copies.. So make sure to read them when you are free and do exercises coz most of the lecturers use the problems in those books for the exam paper. All of the universities offer unlimited internet facilities..use them properly. There are tons of open course-wears and you can learn so many things by using them.

3. Find out the right people.

In a university there are all kinds of people from many different parts of the country. And remember everyone is not like you. So don't jump into conclusions in the beginning and wait a couple of months observing and hanging out with people, coz with time people will show their true colours. You have to be very careful when it comes to selecting friends. Having bad friends can have a huge impact for a university student.. They'll want to skip lecs and party.. Make sure to say NO in such situations.. If you feel like you don't want any of them, fine.. You can be alone if you want to.. And if you have problems, don't hesitate to contact counselors in the university..Of course they are very nice people.

4.Help the needy, not lazy

Helping people is very nice, but if you try to help wrong people you'll regret one day, I can assure you that. As I mentioned earlier some people never go to lectures or study and they think other people are there to help them. So if you help that kind of a person once, then you'll be their slave for the lifetime. Make sure to make right choices.

5. Have fun

A university is not all about studying. You can play a game or go to gym. Or there are tons of clubs and societies and you can join them. Partying is not bad.. But personally I'm not a party animal.. I am an introvert who is very uncomfortable around people. So I never go to parties or any crowded places. But it's your choice...You have the freedom to say NO to anything you don't like.. No one will force you.

6. Never ever forget why you are here...

Well this happen to most of the people.. They forget why they  came to a university in the first place. And they do all kind of dirty things and have fun instead of studying.. This is for university students in my country.. Education is free for you guys.. Everyone in the country is paying for your education. So make it worthy..

Universities are supposed to be places where people share knowledge and innovate new things..It's very sad to see how half of the people are in roads saying they are protecting the free education and others are partying madly.. My opinion is that a university student should be someone who is capable of using their knowledge and wisdom to do better things for their nation and world..

“University can teach you skill and give you opportunity, but it can't teach you sense, nor give you understanding. Sense and understanding are produced within one's soul.”
― C. JoyBell C.

And I think what about quote saying is true.. It should come from inside.. As adults it's our responsibility to play our role as university students and do good...

How to survive A/Ls in 3 months...

Today is the first of May and there are exactly three months until GCE A/L exams begin. I intend to help people who has realized this and started panicking and feeling lost, but not only A/L students but also any student with any upcoming exam can use these tips to ace your exam. I will first explain why most of us usually wait until the day before deadline to do stuff. It's explained by Parkinson's law which states that " Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion". What it means is, if we are given a week to finish a task we will finish it within the week and if we are given an year to finish the same task we will spend the whole year doing it. Well that's how usually us, lazy humans work. Now that you know what happened there is no time to regret about how we procrastinated on unnecessary things etc. Now it's time to damage control. I will not gurantee you will get 3As by following these. (It's possible depending on
