Why it's illegal to take photos of the Eiffel tower at night ?

Eiffel tower, the creation of Gustav Eiffel is a cultural icon of France. Almost everyone who goes to France do not forget to take a photograph with the Eiffel tower, but did you know that it is illegal to take photos at night ? Most probably you don't and that why you are reading this post now...
Well, it's because of the European union copyright law which states that any artistic work (it can be a song, a painting and yeah a building too) are copyrighted, the creators lifetime + 70 more years.. The creator died in 1923 and therefore it should end on 1993 right? Yes but the light system was added in 1980s.. So you can take photos in day time..but not at night...
