Menikdena Archaeological Reserve and Arboretum

It's the year end vacation and everybody is busy travelling. So today I thought of writing about an interesting place to visit near Dambulla. Even though it's not far away from popular tourist destinations most people are not aware about Menikdena. The name Menikdena is associated with a legend which says that the ashes of the arahath maliyadeva thero was buried in a casket decorated with gems. The ancient name for this place is Buddagama and the king " Kithsirimewan" built the mountain monastery according to legends. It also served as a military base for King Vijayabahu I and king Parakramabahu I.

Why we should have expiry dates...

I like the idea of dying by a cancer or some illness where they label me with an expiry date. Nobody who's in their right mind would say that right? But I keep saying that again and again, Why? Because then nobody will have to live with regrets.. Things they could have done for me, fights they could have avoided so that they will not resent themselves after I die. A cancer or any disease which has an ability to kill a person hurts. It definitely hurts I know, but I don't want to die suddenly leaving people who loves me in misery. When you have an expiry date just like a jar of candy on your shelf you get to use the most of it wisely and carefully. Any death hurts.. I have seen more than 200 deaths. Death is  so painful and takes time.

The thief who steals your passion.. - Depression

Do you feel sad all the time? Feeling like you are not worthy and nobody loves you?Do you get angry with the ones you love over nothing? The activities once you were passionate about means nothing to you now? Feeling like all the energy in your body has drained? Chances are you might be suffering from depression.

UOC FOS

Since A/L exams are going to start within next few days I think, I can see a lot of viewers for my A/L posts. So I thought of giving you a bit of encouragement. I am a student who did A/Ls from physical science stream (Combined mathematics, Chemistry and Physics) and currently a 3rd year undergraduate studying nuclear medicine at University of Colombo, Faculty of Science. People think (even I thought) science faculties are boring and teachers are the only products of a science faculty.. Well that's wrong.. You can be a teacher if you want to, but that happens rarely here. None of the seniors I know ended up as teachers. The product of a science faculty is a scientist. Most of the people go abroad for higher studies (usually they get scholarships) and others join research groups. That doesn't mean you can't do a job or earn a good salary. That is up to you to decide whether you are gonna study or do a job. Main goal of a maths student in Sri Lanka is to go to an engineer...

Tragic end of a wasp

Hello everyone, after a long time I'm going to post something educational today. Even though my schedule is busy lately there's no way I will abandon this blog. So todays topic is wasps. The first thing comes to your mind when I say a wasp is the pain of their stings, right? But they helps us for our survival on this planet in so many ways that you are not aware of.. Curious? Then keep reading.

Youth And Consequences...

Finished watching Jason Ubaldi's " Youth and Consequences"   web drama starring Anna Akana    a little while ago, and thought of converting my thoughts into words and publish a new post. Even though my life is not similar to Farrahs my life is full of excitement. Everyday something interesting happens and as I mentioned in a previous post if I were to write a book about my life no one will believe that those things actually happened to a person within 23 years. So my life was never a boring one, and never will be.. hahaha

Reminiscence; A walk down the memory lane

First of all I'm so sorry about not posting anything for a while (More than 3 months...). I was super busy and 2018 started with lot of excitement (yup, it's still exciting) and since this is the first post for this year I thought of starting things with a recap. Sounds good ha? So lets get started.
