A trip to Pitawala Pathana-A 7500 years old airport

In last august vacation i went to Pitawala Pathana,which is situated in Matale.It is a unique grassland of pathana type found in knuckles conservation forest.

And also a one of the places with lowest gravitational forces, in the world.So it is an ideal place for someone to use as an airport.It is said that the the great king ravana who ruled sri lanka thousands of years ago used this place as one of his airports.

How to reach pitawala pathana ?

Go to Matale and then turn to Rattota road and take the right turn from raththota town and you will be able to reach Riverstan,continue in the same road for another 3kms,and you will be able to reach Pitawala pathana.

What can we see there?
When you are walking in Pathana you will be able to see mini world's end ,you will see yellow coloured spots marked on the ground so that it will be easy for you to find the way to mini world's end.Also there will be many endemic and endangered species there,so please leave only your footprints and take only photographs.
