Naked, with black socks...

Can you speak in public without getting panicked? or getting nervous?Well for me it's no.Speaking in public is a horrible nightmare for me.So I'm going to share with you a funny experience of mine. It's funny now,but I was terrified at the moment it happened.

We were in grade 9 and there was an assessment which we will get marks.Teacher gave us three topics and we were free to select any and speak 5 minutes about the topic.Other children were busy gathering information and organizing them.I had enough information in my mind about all three topics and I wasn't sure which one I should select. So I thought what's the big deal in writing a speech and practising it,I'll just select the topic when it's my turn to speak.Even though I thought so,I know I hate doing speeches in front of many people for two reasons.First one is I'm a silent person and I do not talk louder.Second one is that I hate to be the centre of attention.(Of course it will be what happens when I'm talking in front of a whole class of 45 students plus our teacher!!!)

I did my best to avoid this speech but I couldn't. Teacher was doing her own work and listening to speeches. So she called my name and I froze.I went near the teacher and while going I decided to talk about the importance of protecting archaeological sites. (That was the third topic she gave us) Okay,so I addressed the class. My dear teacher and my dear friends,I'm going to talk about the importance of protecting archeological sites. Then I was speechless.I didn't know what to say.I was feeling blank.(Fortunately coz teacher is not looking at the class, students were doing their own things, most of them were reading textbooks etc.So they were not looking at me.) So I stayed still for about 3 minutes and said Thank you!! and went to my place. My friends were like Oh My God!What have you done. I thought my teacher would say "Ruvi,Didn't you practice a speech!!How careless are you?". At the end of the period she asked me to come. I thought that's the end of my life. She said "Here enter these marks in to your copy of the mark sheet". (I was her subject monitor) I was relieved coz she didn't say anything I just took it and went to my place. After she had gone all of my friends came to me,not to check their marks, but to check MINE!!! And guess what I've got 6 out of 10.Most of the students got 5 and 6 marks.Only one got 7.So for a speech of 3 lines I got 6!!!That's when we realize what has happened. Our teacher had thought that I talked but she didn't hear coz she know I do not talk louder. We burst out laughing. :) And still my friends remind me this and laugh.

How to survive A/Ls in 3 months...

Today is the first of May and there are exactly three months until GCE A/L exams begin. I intend to help people who has realized this and started panicking and feeling lost, but not only A/L students but also any student with any upcoming exam can use these tips to ace your exam. I will first explain why most of us usually wait until the day before deadline to do stuff. It's explained by Parkinson's law which states that " Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion". What it means is, if we are given a week to finish a task we will finish it within the week and if we are given an year to finish the same task we will spend the whole year doing it. Well that's how usually us, lazy humans work. Now that you know what happened there is no time to regret about how we procrastinated on unnecessary things etc. Now it's time to damage control. I will not gurantee you will get 3As by following these. (It's possible depending on
