How to blog...

Maybe you are a blogger,or someone who is thinking about becoming a one.So for all of you I'm giving some tips about blogging. What to write,How to get more readers,How to make a blog,Where to get images and a lot more.

For beginners..

  • First select a platform which suits you.Mostly people use blogger or wordpress.I'm using blogger coz it's more user friendly and easy to edit.
  • Think about why you want a blog. While some  people need a blog to advertise their products and to earn money, there are some others like me who are blogging for fun.I blog just because I like it.It makes me happy when others read things I write.
  • Now you want a title for your blog.Make you title an eye catchy and relevant to what  your blog is about. My blog is about things suddenly pop up in my head. It's about some places to visit, recipes, health issues and a lot more things. So I simply named it Ruvi's thoughts...

So now we have a blog and now you are wondering what am I going to write.Nothing comes to your head, just a blank.

  • Search on google for topics, there will be loads of websites offering you thousands of topics to write about.
  • If you want to get more readers then try google trends. It will show you what people are looking for, these days.
  • Write How to..s,Tips,and guides and also it will attract more readers
  • Read magazines, newspapers and others blogs. You will come up with tons of topics to write about.
  • Don't forget that content is the key to everything.Your content should be worth reading an also should be in a good quality. It must be your own work.Don't copy from others.
  • Use a notebook to note new topics pop up in your head,or you will forget them after a while.

Some more tips to attract readers..

  • Add some stunning images to attract the reader. But they have to be royalty free images.Remember not to use images with copyrights without a permission from the owner or you will get sued. There are number of ways to get free images. You can use google advanced image search for example. But you will have to go to the original website and confirm that the picture is free.I normally use photopin coz there are number of high quality pictures there.
  • Use templates to give your readers a pleasant experience
  • Be yourself, write freely of anything you want to share with your readers
  • Write it in your own way,in your own style and friendly
  • Plan before writing how you are going to give your information to your readers, arrange it in an order.I usually keep a book for that.

Now you have a blog, published some posts and nobody reads them???Here are few solutions.

  • Use social networks like Facebook,Twitter,Google plus communities,Pinterest etc.Share your work there.
  • Use traffic generating websites like linkreferral.
  • Comment on other bloggers' blog posts. So they will note you and take a look at your blog posts too.Sometimes it helps you to be friends with professional bloggers and get their advices.
  • Like I said once your content must be good and writing guides and tutorials always attracts more readers.
  • Add social networking widgets to your blog and also a subscribe button. So your readers can stay connected to your blog and they will get email notifications when you publish a new post.

So that't it. :) If you have more ideas or questions don't hesitate to comment or email me(use the contact form in the right side bar).

How to survive A/Ls in 3 months...

Today is the first of May and there are exactly three months until GCE A/L exams begin. I intend to help people who has realized this and started panicking and feeling lost, but not only A/L students but also any student with any upcoming exam can use these tips to ace your exam. I will first explain why most of us usually wait until the day before deadline to do stuff. It's explained by Parkinson's law which states that " Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion". What it means is, if we are given a week to finish a task we will finish it within the week and if we are given an year to finish the same task we will spend the whole year doing it. Well that's how usually us, lazy humans work. Now that you know what happened there is no time to regret about how we procrastinated on unnecessary things etc. Now it's time to damage control. I will not gurantee you will get 3As by following these. (It's possible depending on
