Seeni sambol(onion sambol) recipe

Today I'm going to introduce you another authentic Sri Lankan recipe.Actually this is used as a side dish.You can enjoy this with bread or rice.I really like its spicy and sweet taste.



What you'll need..

There are two main ingredients you'll need to make seeni sambol.
5 or 6 big onions(chopped)
100g of maldivefish pieces










1-rampe (don't worry if you are unable to find,its just a taste enhancer)
2- 3 or 4 crushed cardamoms
3-3 tbsp sugar
4-some curry leaves
5-3 tsp chopped ginger and garlic
6-3 tbsp chilli pieces(you can use chilli powder        instead of chille pieces)
7-cinnamon

You have add salt to your taste..Add 1/2 tsp tamarind for a better taste.


How to make..

  • Heat a pan and add some oil,fry ginger and garlic and then add big onions.
  • Fry it in a low heat till big onions change colour to gold and then add curry leaves,rampe,and maldivefish.
  • After about 4 minutes add sugar and salt.
  • When the mix is going to change the colour into brown(as you can see in the picture) add chillie pieces 
  • Fry it for a minute and serve ...
